here is a quick menu for today.
mains
braised getaway farm beef ragu with red wine, caramelized onions, roasted red peppers and foxhill parmesan polenta (polenta is a creamy comfort food - think mashed potatoes but not because it's made with cornmeal) i made the portions ginormous so i only have 5 and it will serve two to three people depending on how voracious your appetite is... $18
frozen
these are the usual suspects
lobster mac and cheese small $10 large $20
shepherd's pie $7.5
sausage and pepper penne small $7.5 large $15
spaghetti and meatballs $10 (serves 2)
fishcakes and beans $12 (serves 2)
general tao's chicken $15 (serves 2)
chicken curry $15 (serves 2)
geez louise for toning it down i still have tons of stuff!
soups
some of the soups aren't quite finished yet - a few more tweaks tomorrow, and i guess it's for the best anyway since i could barely close the freezer door last night.
i have seafood chowder, beef chilli, thai chicken and rice, curried butternut squash, turnip veloute, beet parsnip and pear, potato leek and bacon, carrot apple and ginger (it seems i have a thing for three item recipes)
for sunday a brand new batch of roasted red pepper and tomato, french onion, and beef & barley should be up to snuff.
desserts
chocolate cupcakes with maple cream cheese frosting, snickers brownies and lemon meringue tarts. i'll probably have some surprises for sunday as well so please come down to the market for a visit - particularly in the afternoons.
i also took a few radical photos yesterday as i was prepping away so i hope you are all waiting with breath that is bated for some new kitchen tips...
